A new update from Genshin Impact has given players more information about the TCG mode rumored to be coming to the game in Version 3.3. With the release of Version 3.2 of the massively popular RPG set to arrive tomorrow, HoYoVerse has begun to roll out details about what’s to come in the following patch. The developer officially revealed the arrival of Scaramouche, referred to as “Wanderer,” in Version 3.3 alongside a brand-new character in Faruzan. Now, players are starting to get more of an idea of what the upcoming TCG will look like.

HoYoVerse had officially revealed that Genshin Impact would be receiving its own in-game TCG during the Version 3.1 Special Program last month. Officially titled “Genius Invokation TCG,” the game is heavily referenced by many NPCs within the game’s new region of Sumeru, apparently being a popular hobby among Akademiya students and researchers. Little has been revealed about the card game’s gameplay yet, but the announcement revealed cards of Genshin‘s many popular characters. Now, HoYoVerse is once again teasing the game mode’s impending arrival.

A recent post to Genshin Impact‘s social media has shared a bit more about how Genius Invokation TCG will work within the game. The card game will apparently be heavily focused on its PvE elements with players able to acquire all of the cards in-game. The TCG will feature both PvE and PvP matches for players to square off against their friends, but will not feature any rewards tied to its PvP system. The post also teases that players will be able to invite “characters and NPCs” to play against them, implying some of Genshin Impact‘s playable cast may join the TCG mode.

Alongside minor reveals about the game mode’s function, Genshin Impact also revealed some characters who will be appearing within Genius Invokation TCG. Some of the game’s Character Cards will include a mix of five-star characters like Diluc and Ayaka with four-stars like Xingqiu and Collei, even offering bosses like the Maguu Kenki as character cards. Genshin Impact also revealed other card designs within the game including images based on the Adventurer’s Guild’s Katheryne, Yae Miko, and Diluc’s Constellations.

The addition of Genius Invokation TCG to Genshin Impact comes as players have been clamoring for more endgame content from the popular RPG. Players have long been requesting more forms of content built for endgame with Genshin‘s Spiral Abyss currently being its only form. While the TCG is meant to be a permanent fixture, HoYoVerse has stated they won’t implement endgame content similar to Spiral Abyss, receiving significant backlash from the community. While Genius Invokation TCG won’t be the endgame many players wanted, the TCG looks to bring plenty of fun for fans of Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
