One Piece 1063 dropped earlier today and continued the Straw Hat Pirates‘ adventure on Egghead Island. Previously, the fans were introduced to the many bodies of Dr. Vegapunk but expectations that the remaining bodies of the Navy genius would be revealed in this week’s chapter remained unfulfilled.

While fans did get to see quite a bit of the crew on the new island, the more important part of the chapter happened away from it, on a sea in the New World. One of the Yonko of the Sea, Blackbeard was finally seen making his move after departing from Amazon Lily, where he fought against Boa Hancock. This time, he faces off against none other than Trafalgar Law. That, and much more, was the focus of One Piece 1063.

Bonney And Kuma

Bonney has been an incredible addition to the Straw Hat group for the Egghead Island arc. Currently, with Luffy, she is on a quest to get to Dr. Vegapunk and ask him about her father’s fate and potentially seek a cure for his condition. In the previous chapter, she, along with Luffy, Chopper, and Jinbe, met Atlas, one of the bodies of the Navy genius. This week’s chapter continued right from where the previous one left off and so the group conversed with Dr. Vegapunk for a short while. However, the more interesting part came later, when a Pacifista charged towards them, targeting them on accounts of theft. Pirates being pirates, it was a given for Luffy and his group to jump into fighting, however, knowing Bonney’s relationship with Kuma, things became quite complicated.

Despite the Kuma in front of the group being a mere Pacifista, Bonney couldn’t bring herself to harm him, or allow anyone else to do the same. When Luffy attempted to fight Kuma, Bonney kicked him away so as to keep him from hurting the cyborg that resembled her father. Finally, Luffy and his group now know that Bonney and Kuma are related by blood. Sadly, fans didn’t get to see the result of the clash between the Pacifista and Luffy’s group, however, the next chapter will certainly throw some focus on it.

Blackbeard Ambushes Law

One Piece 1063 turned out to be a phenomenal chapter and it was the second section that focused specifically on Yonko Blackbeard and his clash against Trafalgar Law that made it so special. Having left Amazon Lily, Blackbeard is now back in the New World and he planned to ambush whoever goes to the island north of Wano. Unfortunately for Law, this turned out to be him and as soon as he reached close to his destination, he was ambushed by the Blackbeard Pirates. The group ambushing him consists of Burgess, Van Augur, Doc Q, Stronger, and Yonko Blackbeard himself.

While Law and his group tried to escape from Blackbeard, the damage done to their submarine was great enough to force them to resurface. Fans saw Law get infected by a virus created by none other than Doc Q that also turned quite a lot of his crewmates into women. Thankfully, Law seems to have picked up quite a few things from his battles in Wano and learned that a great amount of Haki can counter Devil Fruit powers. By coating himself in large amounts of Haki, Law was able to reverse the abilities of the Blackbeard Pirates’ doctor. Having no place to escape to, the only sensible thing for Law was to escape to the nearby island and take the fight there, which is exactly what he ended up doing. Expectedly, Blackbeard’s crew followed shortly after, setting the stage for a grand fight.

A Clash Of Titans

One Piece 1063 sets off an incredible face-off between Trafalgar Law and Yonko Blackbeard. However, before fans got to that segment of the chapter, Oda introduced quite a lot of new Devil Fruit powers belonging to the members of the Ten Titanic Captains. Doc Q was revealed to have the power of the Sick Sick Fruit, which likely allows him to infect other people with different kinds of diseases. In One Piece chapter 1063, he used the Malady disease on Law’s crew and turned the majority of them into women, including Law himself. Soon after, fans also got to see the Devil Fruit powers of Van Augur, the sharpshooter of the crew. He possesses the power of the Warp Warp Fruit and, as evident from its name, this Devil Fruit allows him to transport himself and other people to a different location instantaneously.

Using his powers, he sent Burgess and the other members of his crew to the island where Law teleported to. Jesus Burgess, the Captain of the first ship of the Blackbeard Pirates, then showcased his Buff Buff Fruit, and this ability grants him tremendous strength, great enough to lift a mountain with ease. Finally, Doc Q’s companion horse, Stronger, was revealed to have the power of the Mythical Zoan Horse Fruit, Model: Pegasus.

Using Stronger, Blackbeard made his way to the island looking for Law and the two titans are all set to clash now. Blackbeard plans to steal all the Road Poneglyph copies that Law has in his possession. While one would assume that Law would want to avoid fighting Blackbeard, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Law is much stronger now than he once was and his bounty is proof of that. He is a pirate worthy of challenging the Emperors on his own and possibly fighting them on even ground. As such, he isn’t afraid of taking on Blackbeard in battle and his performance in One Piece 1063 is proof of that. Law has accepted Blackbeard’s challenge, claiming that he would love to take his Poneglyphs as well. The fight is yet to begin, but Oda has surely set up a massive clash with this chapter. Hopefully, fans will get to see it continue in the upcoming chapter of One Piece.
