Scorn‘s fifth and final Act is set in a colossal structure that is home to some puzzles and hostile entities. While this is not the most difficult Act to complete in the game, there are several points where players may find themselves stuck. For those fans that are indeed having some trouble getting through Scorn‘s Act 5, this complete walkthrough is here to provide assistance.

Scorn: Act 5 Walkthrough

Enter the Structure

Upon starting Act 5, players should climb one of the ramps and enter the large structure at the top. The first major room in this structure has a notable statue in its center, and fans of horror video games should use the doorway on the left side of this room to enter a stairwell. Players should then use the stairs to go down one level and enter a room that houses two entities with bulbous bellies.

Collect the Vial

There is a thin mechanism protruding from the ground near the head of the furthest entity, and Scorn players should extract the vial from it. Fans should then descend the ramp that they used to reach the mechanism with the vial and continue forward to a small room with a machine on the wall. The vial that fans are carrying can be inserted into this machine in order to lower a gate and gain access to a room that will be henceforth referred to as the “boss room.”

Move the First Pod and Fill the Vial

There is a small alcove on the right side of the boss room, and there is a pedestal that holds two pink pods at its center. Players should pick up one of those pods and insert it into the seated entity that is on the other side of the boss room. Fans of puzzle games should then hit the inserted pod twice to expel the entity, which should be picked up and taken to the machine with the vial. Once the vial has been filled, players should return it to entity with the bulbous belly and insert it into the mechanism it was extracted from initially.

Move the Second Pod

With the first entity activated, players should take the vial back to the machine where they just filled it and reenter the boss room. Fans should then grab the second pod from the alcove, though they may want to use the machines on the surrounding walls to refill their healing capabilities and ammunition first. When all of this has been done, players can insert the pod into the newly seated figure to initiate a boss fight.

Boss Fight #1

This boss fight unfolds over two phases, and the first one begins with the boss launching projectiles at the player. Fans should simply keep a bit of distance and strafe to avoid these projectiles. Ultimately, the boss will go to reload, at which point players should hit one of the pink sacks on its sides. This process should be repeated until both pink sacks have been destroyed, and fans of Xbox console exclusives should interact with the boss’s weaponized arm when it collapses.

This action will trigger the second phase of the fight, which sees the boss launching projectiles once again. Players should employ the same strategy that was used before to dodge these projectiles, waiting for the boss to stop firing them in rapid succession. When that occurs, fans of body horror should get close to the boss to cause it to do a lunge attack, and they should fire at the pink pod in its stomach during the animation. Hitting the pod in this way a couple of times will cause the entity inside the pod to be expelled, and players should then interact with the boss’s weaponized arm and carry the entity to the machine with the vial.

Move the Third Pod

Fans should now return to the boss room and stand on the pressure plate that is near the alcove where they collected the first two pods. This will cause the wall in front of the pressure plate to open, and fans should fire their new weapon in Scorn into the opening to destroy a mechanism and retract the gate on their left. There is a third pink pod in the alcove past that opened gate, which should be taken to the newly seated entity on the other side of the boss room to start another boss fight.

Boss Fight #2

This boss fight is much quicker than the first one, and players should begin by strafing out of the way of this Scorn creature‘s projectiles. This should be done until the boss stops to reload, at which point players should shoot an explosive into its backpack. Indeed, one explosive is all it takes to bring down this boss, and fans should carry the expelled entity back to the machine with the vial.

Descend the Stairs

At this point, players will have a fully-filled vial, but they will not be able to use it to activate the second entity with a bulbous belly just yet. Instead, fans must pass through the room with that entity and return to the stairwell that they descended upon entering the structure at the beginning of the Act. Players should now use the stairs to go down one more level, stand on the pressure plate that they encounter at the bottom, and shoot into the opening that appears to destroy a mechanism and open a gate on the left.

Improve the Key

After passing through the opened gate, players will find themselves in a room with a circular platform in its center, and they should use the door on the right side. Soon, fans will find a health machine hanging on the wall to their right, and there is a machine across from it that will temporarily remove the growth from the Scorn protagonist‘s arm. Fans should interact with that machine, quickly use their key on the nearby gate, and then check the body on the right side to refill explosives.

There is a pressure plate just beyond the gate that players should now stand upon. Scorn fans should then wait for a gap to appear in the suspended pods and shoot into the opening ahead to destroy a mechanism and retract the gate in front of them. Players must then return to the machine that they used to remove the growth and run beyond the lowered gate to improve their key.

Remove the Growth

Fans should now return to the machine that removes the growth once again, quickly run to the room with the circular platform in the center, and then use their newly-improved key to open the door on the right side. Players should then turn around and run across the bridge that passes over the circular platform to reach the room where they stood upon the initial pressure plate. There is another growth-removing machine on the right side of the room, which fans should use before running to the room that they just opened with their key and interacting with the machine in the corner.

Players will now have the opportunity to remove the growth more permanently by positioning the machine’s claw near their neck. With the growth extracted, H.R. Giger fans should exit the machine, return to the room with the circular platform, and go through the door on their right. There is a terminal in the room past that door, which players can interact with to lower the gate that is in front of them.

Use the Vial

After moving past the lowered gate, players should turn to their left and climb a ramp to renter the structure. Fans should then return to the entity with the bulbous belly and finally insert the vial that they have filled. This will action will turn the platform that the player is standing on into an elevator, and they should interact with the statue at the top to move onto the final Scorn puzzle.

Beat the Game

Fans will now find themselves in control of two new bodies, and they should use one to interact with the statue and recover their old body. Players should then switch to the second new body, climb the small flight of stairs across from the statue, and use the machine on the right wall to be fitted with an arm key. This key can be used on the nearby terminal to move a portion of the elaborate and colorful door in Scorn.

With this new body in place, fans should switch back to the new body that is holding the old body and carry it to a pressure plate that is just beyond the aforementioned terminal. Standing on this pressure plate for a moment will cause the door to be fully opened, and players should walk through and continue down the corridor to beat Scorn.

Scorn is available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
