The story of A Plague Tale: Requiem is all about family connections and how they must face all incoming dangers together and help each other when in need. In one of the chapters, Amicia and Lucas venture alone to search for Magister Vaudin, who seems to have studied the Prima Macula for centuries. Alas, the Magister is hiding in a high tower, away from the prying eyes of the soldiers patrolling the area.

The only way to reach him is by solving a Bell Symbol puzzle that seems to be blocking the Magister study’s entrance. Amicia must sneak around multiple soldiers to reach Vaudin’s tower without any decent A Plague Tale: Requiem armor as those won’t be available until later on.

How To Solve The Bell Symbol Puzzle In A Plague Tale: Requiem

To solve the Bell Symbol puzzle in A Plague Tale: Requiem, players must use the sling to hit the four bells according to Lucas’s instructions. Upon arriving at the base of the tower, Lucas will comment that the four bells are in the wrong order, considering the sun is in the middle. The correct order is Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, and Mercury.

Starting from the first bell on the left side of the Sun:

  • Jupiter: Jupiter’s symbol looks like a Z.
  • Mars: The next bell represents Mars, which is a circle with a line cutting it horizontally.
  • Venus: The third bell needs to have the circle symbol with a vertical line under it to portray Venus.
  • Mercury: The fourth and final bell will be the remaining symbol that looks like another circle, but it has an X above it.

For all players who want a straightforward answer, by aiming at the left corner of each bell, hit the bells from left to right while following this order;

  • First Bell x1
  • Second Bell x3
  • Third Bell x2
  • Fourth Bell x2

Once the puzzle is complete, a secret door on the left side will open and Amicia will meet Magister Vaudin alongside Lucas. It is revealed that she was what’s called a Protector and her job is to watch over the carrier, which is Hugo in A Plague Tale: Requiem. The Magister agrees to return with Amicia and Lucas to find a cure for her little brother. With that, the second chapter, Newcomers, will be completed.

Most of these symbols have a meaning according to old roman mythology and Lucas talks about it a bit when he’s guiding Amicia in A Plague Tale: Requiem. For example, Mars is the God of War and the correct symbol is a shield crossed by a spear. Venus, on the other hand, some say it looks like a necklace (Lucas for instance), while others say it’s a mirror with a cross handle. Mercury is the God of Commerce and the symbol portrays a staff with two snakes. The only thing Lucas says about Jupiter is that it looks like the letter Z from Zeus.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
