7/7 Happosai – Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2 is one of the most underrated shounen anime series and Happosai is its most powerful and silly fighter. This seemingly fragile and tiny grandfather is a great warrior who is also a grandmaster and the founder of an acclaimed Martial Arts school where many of the greatest fighters have learned all that they know.

Happosai personally trained many of these fighters and had not only an immense amount of raw power and a gigantic battle aura but also brilliant combat skills. He not only knew most ancient martial arts techniques but was able to come up with new ones during his battles. He could easily defeat other fighters, monsters, or anyone who would dare go up against him. However, he was just as famously pervy at times, and he was easily distracted by female lingerie.

6/7 Hiruzen Sarutobi – Naruto

Hiruzen Sarutobi was one of the strongest characters in Naruto, and he was also one of the wisest anime elders in the series. Hiruzen was a great fighter from a young age and became one of the youngest Hokages thanks to his great skills and abilities.

Even though he became weaker in his older years he was still a strong warrior who was respected by all. He had one of the strongest chakras in Naruto and was one of the most powerful shadow clone technique users. He was also great at hand-to-hand combat and could even expel blasts of flames as well as summon a dragon using a mud technique.

5/7 Joseph Joestar – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

Joseph Joestar changed during his lifetime and in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders was a weaker but much wiser character. While originally Joseph would use Ripple during his famously powerful attacks, he changed to Hermit Purple Stand as a grandpa.

This anime had some of the most powerful and dangerous villains, heroes as well as characters who died multiple times and Joseph was able to hold his own during battles even as a grandfather. He was always one of the smartest fighters who also learned to use his Hermit Purple Stand perfectly and was able to use it as a weapon as well as to defend himself and his loved ones.

4/7 Zeno Zoldyck – Hunter x Hunter

Zeno Zoldyck is not only the strongest grandfather in Hunter x Hunter but is one of the deadliest ones in anime history. There are many terrifying and dangerous hunters in the series but only a few are as feared as this skilled and devious assassin.

Even though this anime had many powerful villains and heroes there were only a few who were able to defeat this tiny grandpa. Makarov had immense magical powers which he learned to use to the highest degree. He also had immense strength, and durability, and could control the elements. Makarov was also one of the wisest and most intelligent fighters which truly turned him into one of the hardest-to-defeat anime grandpas of all time.

Goku never stopped training and improving his techniques and was eventually even able to master the Ultra Instinct form.

1/7 Zeus – Record Of Ragnarok

The strongest anime grandfather has to be the strongest of Gods, Zeus. Record Of Ragnarok‘s mighty and powerful God was actually crowned as the mightiest God after he defeated his father Titan as well as Kronos and won the Titanomachy Tournament. Even though Zeus would look older he would remain as powerful as ever.

As a deity, Zeus had many physical abilities that made him undefeatable even by other Gods, including Godly strength, speed, stamina, and intelligence among many others. However, he was still a skilled fighter who learned to use many fighting techniques befitting the leader of Gods.
